What is Breast Augmentation Surgery (Implant Insertion) and Implant Removal?

About Breast Augmentation Surgery (Implant Insertion)

Breast Augmentation Surgery can be broadly divided into the "Implant (Breast Augmentation Implant Insertion)" method and the "Fat Injection" method.

Breast augmentation, which has recently become mainstream, is the artificial breast method, which involves inserting an implant (artificial breast/enlargement implant) under the bust that is suited to the person's preferences and body shape to increase breast size. It is a surgery that can be completed in a relatively short time and is less stressful on the body.

Currently, many implants used in breast augmentation are highly safe, with various characteristics. They are soft, do not require massage, come in a variety of sizes and shapes, are natural and beautiful, and can be tailored to each individual’s needs, providing a well-expressed bust.

About Implant Removal

Breast implant removal is a surgical procedure that involves removing previously inserted breast implants. This is done when the implant deteriorates, becomes uncomfortable, changes shape, or at the patient's request. When performing the removal, it is important to make necessary corrections to the surrounding tissue to restore the natural breast contour. Post-operative care is essential to minimize the burden on the body and ensure proper recovery.

What is the Implant Method?

Implant methods for breast augmentation are generally divided into two techniques: the "submammary method" and the "subpectoralis major method," depending on the type of implant and the placement location.

Both surgeries require a small incision a few centimeters from the natural fold of the armpit or under the breast, minimizing stress on the body. The surgical scar is discreet and hardly visible to others. This breast augmentation procedure also typically causes minimal damage to the mammary glands.

Inframammary Method

This is a breast augmentation procedure where an implant is inserted under the mammary glands through an incision in the armpit or below the breast.

The surgery is relatively straightforward, with quick recovery, minimal pain during and after the procedure, and the softness of the implant making it easy to achieve a feminine, full bust.

However, compared to the pectoralis major method explained below, the implant is placed closer to the skin, making it less suitable for extremely thin individuals.

Subpectoralis Major Method

This method involves making an incision in the armpit or under the breast and inserting an implant under the pectoralis major muscle.

It has the advantage of being safe for breastfeeding, as it does not damage the mammary glands. It is suitable for individuals who are thin. However, it is essential to choose an implant that is specifically designed for the subpectoralis major method.

Types of Implants (Breast Augmentation Implants)

We also offer a variety of breast augmentation implants beyond those listed below.

During your consultation, we will explain the implant that we believe is most suitable for you, allowing you to hold it and assess how it feels.

Soft Cohesive Silicone

Soft cohesive silicone mimics the natural softness of a real bust.

Not only does it reduce the burden during surgery, but it also eliminates the need for post-operative breast massage. Even if the implant is torn, you can be assured that the soft cohesive silicone will not leak.

CMC Hydrogel

This implant is approved by the French Ministry of Health and the EU, and is known for its safety.

The hydrogel consists of a gel-like mixture of physiological saline and mucopolysaccharide. Mucopolysaccharide is a natural component found in the human body, making it safe and harmless. Even if the implant ruptures, it will be safely excreted from the body through urine within three days.

Saline

The saline is completely sterile and has an osmotic pressure equal to that of human body fluids, making it safe even if the implant ruptures.

About Post-Treatment Care

  • You may experience muscle-like pain for 2-3 days immediately after surgery.
  • If you are concerned about pain, we recommend taking an extended rest period.
  • There are no restrictions on daily activities following the surgery.
  • You will wear a support garment on your bust area for about a week, until the stitches are removed.
  • Avoid intense physical exercise as much as possible during recovery.
  • You may shower the day after surgery, except for the bust area.
  • The sutures will be removed approximately one week after the surgery.
  • No special massage is required (although it may be necessary depending on the type of implant).
