Stem cells have the remarkable ability to repair damaged or weakened tissues. By enhancing their natural regenerative capacity, stem cells can help restore normal function to worn cartilage and malfunctioning organs. Through proper rest, nutrition, and treatment, the goal is to return the body's functions to a healthy state.
The core principle of regenerative medicine using stem cells is to harness your own cells to repair areas that can no longer heal or regenerate on their own.
Ideally, the fastest way to heal skin or joints is to inject stem cells directly into the affected area.
However, many parts of the body—such as internal organs—cannot be accessed by direct injection. In such cases, stem cell therapy utilizes an intravenous (IV) infusion to deliver cultured stem cells derived from your own body into areas that cannot be directly reached.
This advanced treatment method
targets cells throughout the body indirectly via the bloodstream.
Stem cells administered into the body have the ability to migrate to injured areas, reduce inflammation, and repair damaged tissues, making them effective in treating a wide range of conditions.
The primary benefits expected from stem cell infusion therapy include the following.
Anti-aging Effects
Revitalizes aging skin by improving wrinkles, age spots, whitening, and elasticity.
Immune Enhancement
Stimulates cells within the body, potentially boosting immune strength and resilience.
Skin Disorder Relief
Helps improve inflammatory skin conditions like atopic dermatitis.
Internal Organ Recovery
Stem cells home in on weakened tissue, potentially alleviating symptoms of cerebral infarction, lung disease, autoimmune disorders, diabetes, liver cirrhosis, ischemic heart disease, and Alzheimer’s.
Chronic Pain Relief
Stem cells can reduce neuropathic and inflammatory pain by calming chronic inflammation and healing damaged peripheral nerves.
What Is Regenerative Medicine?
Regenerative medicine focuses on repairing or replacing tissues damaged by aging, injury, or disease. Stem cell therapy is a core component of this field and is now applied not only in medical treatment but also in aesthetic care.
What Are Stem Cells?
Stem cells are undifferentiated cells with the ability to transform into various specialized cell types. They play a crucial role in tissue repair and regeneration, making them essential to regenerative medicine.
Stem cells have the ability to grow and differentiate into various types of cells and tissues. They are highly versatile cells.
Unlike differentiated cells, which can only replicate their own kind, stem cells can become a wide variety of cell types. This unique ability enables them to repair damaged tissue throughout the body.
At our clinic, stem cells are safely extracted from the patient, cultured under strict conditions, and then reinfused. This autologous approach ensures a high level of safety and minimizes the risk of rejection or adverse effects.
Why Are Stem Cells Effective?
When the body sustains any kind of injury or damage, signals are sent from the affected area to initiate repair.
Stem cells respond to these signals by migrating to the damaged site, where they differentiate into the necessary cell types to repair and regenerate tissue, helping to alleviate symptoms.
It is believed that the strength of these repair signals is why patients in the acute phase tend to respond better to stem cell therapy than those in the chronic phase.
Rather than removing damaged tissue or replacing it with artificial materials, this approach—“regenerating it with your own cells”— has led to numerous reports of symptom improvement in conditions once thought to be incurable.
Shibuya Cosmetic Surgery Clinic
is officially certified with a Type 2 Regenerative Medicine Provision Plan Number.
Our clinic has been officially approved by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare to provide Type 2 regenerative medicine.
Stem cell-based regenerative medicine is subject to rigorous evaluation by a Special Certified Regenerative Medicine Committee, authorized by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare. This review assesses the treatment's appropriateness, safety, physician qualifications, and cell processing management system.
If the committee deems the plan appropriate, it can be submitted to the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare for approval, after which treatment may begin.
Shibuya Cosmetic Surgery Clinic is a certified medical facility that has completed this formal process and obtained a Type 2 Regenerative Medicine Provision Plan Number.

Please feel free to contact us at any time.
We will carefully ask about your condition, medical history, and current health status, and provide a detailed explanation of the treatment using autologous adipose tissue-derived mesenchymal stem cells.
Blood samples will be collected for infection screening and biomarker analysis, and pain assessment tests will also be conducted.
Under local anesthesia, a small incision—less than 2 cm in length—is made in the abdomen or another area to collect adipose tissue.
Blood samples are also collected to obtain plasma components used for cell culture.
You may return home once the bleeding has stopped.
Approximately five weeks after adipose tissue is collected, the patient’s own cultured and expanded stem cells are administered via intravenous infusion.
We will follow up with you at approximately 3 months, 6 months, and 1 year after the administration. During these follow-ups, we will check on your condition through questionnaires and in-clinic examinations to monitor your progress.
